Dust to Dust since 2012
ongoing research

What comes from dust, returns to dust. Homemade urns and vessels consisting of sands, soils, flours, salts and other minerals. The ingredients are easily accessible in contexts of locality, but yet - viewed from a larger perspective - some of them are fought over and decreasing resources in some arias of the world. Today, in urban structures there are hardly any soils that have remained unchanged. They are partially sealed, materials are widely imported, relocated, shifted, rearranged, mixed. The ongoing materials research project investigates the complexity of production processes, material compositions, and their origins in global and local contexts, as well as symbolic functions of materials.
